Meals

 

We balance your culinary tastes with your nutritional needs and any modified diet your physician may have prescribed. To review these diets, registered dietitians are available through your nurse or physician.

 

A new menu will be available to you each morning. Prior to lunch, please select preferences for the following day. If no selections are received, we will provide a “house” meal. Guest trays are available in your room for a small charge. Please contact your nurse if you would like this service for a visitor.

 

Meals are delivered within the following times:

 

Breakfast: 7:00 – 9:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.

 


 

Nutrition Consultation, Counseling, and Education

 

The Registered Dietitians (RD) at Cottage are food and nutrition experts and leaders in the field of dietetics. Each RD is credentialed through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and holds at minimum a bachelor’s degree. Several RDs also have master’s degrees and hold specialty certifications. Our clinical RDs are part of the medical team administering medical nutrition therapy in the hospital and outpatient clinic setting. Our culinary RD works in food services assuring optimal nutritional quality of the room service style menus.

 

Outpatient nutritional counseling services for individuals are also available through our registered dietitian by appointment.  Physician- and self-referrals are welcome.

 

SYVCH Dietitian Stacey Bailey, MS, RD, CDE (sbailey@sbch.org), holds a Master of Science degree and is a Certified Diabetes Educator. She teaches our weekly nutrition classes with a focus on diabetes and cardiovascular disease management. Stacey has a passion for nutrition and educating people on healthy eating.
