Diagnostic Radiology

The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is a four-year, ACGME-accredited program beyond the first-year post-graduate level.  Training takes place primarily at the Diagnostic Radiology Department of SBCH.  The program also utilizes the nuclear medicine facilities of the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara and the outpatient facilities of the Sansum Clinic and the Cottage Center for Advanced Imaging in Santa Barbara.  Residents also rotate outside Santa Barbara to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles for pediatric radiology and to the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center for advanced cardiothoracic imaging.  In the third year of radiology residency, residents attend the four-week Radiology-Pathology Correlation course, American Institute of Radiology Pathology (AIRP), sponsored by the American College of Radiology in Silver Spring, MD.

ACCREDITATION

The most recent full accreditation (April 2011) was for four years. The next ACGME site visit is scheduled in the spring of 2015.
